Black Hawk Down rescued me

I’ve been pretty busy lately doing some serious yardwork around the house, so it was nice to have a weekend off. I thought I would do some serious work on the computer since I have a list of stuff to do…but I didn’t. Instead I took a break for a little fun time and yesterday, watched one of my favorite movies…Black Hawk Down.

It’s the first weekend I’ve had off in a couple months. The thing about web design is some jobs require a lot of my spare time and so does family obligations. We’ve redone the entire backyard from the dirt all the way up (bark, sod, etc), which was a huge task.

What about the movie? Yeah, I’m getting there.

So how it started. I ended up diving back into a Playstation 2 game I haven’t played in a long time, SOCOM 3. I know it’s a fairly new game. I bought it the day it came out to add to my library. After being away from it for a few months, I forgot how fantastic it is. So I was playing that and did some family stuff too (lawn mowing, cleaning, took the family to Cirque du Soleil as well) and during Sunday, I decided to watch Black Hawk Down.

It’s an absolutely excellent movie and is definately on my list of top favorites. On the DVD, watch the “making of” parts to get some fabulous insight into the reality behind the filming. It has a great ensemble cast:
