I don’t think I am the only person looking forward to the big screen release of Michael Mann’s Miami Vice. I am probably one of the few though that had my life change by the original show.

Ok, confession time.
During the days when Miami Vice was a huge hit, I went to a school that probably could have been called Rocker High. The hallways were a sea of long hair and jean jackets. Then that crowd parted revealing my white suit (yes, jacket and pants), blue t-shirt, slip on shoes (no socks of course), and slick back hair.
Yeah, I was a rebel.
I didn’t care about fitting in or following the “code” of Rocker-ville. I was John Crockett and even though I didn’t have a sailboat or a Ferrari, I was still cool as ice. Vanilla Ice that is.
Years later I would be remembered fondly…
“Oh, your that guy with the Miami Vice suits, right?”
Guilty.
Ahhh, but I had fun and it’s really no different then the Star Wars geeks who dress as Darth Vader. Well, except I went to school that way in 9th grade. I must admit though, I did get invited to parties and had the eye of a few ladies. Then again, they could have been just looking to see if I had grown stubble yet.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the movie as I said AND I thought I would share something embarassing today.
