The Hilarious House of Frightenstein

Join me brothers and sisters of Canada for this Canadian children’s television series which was produced in Ontario. The Hilarious House of Frightenstein had 130 episodes of the series were made in one single nine-month span of time starting in 1971. I think I saw every darn one of these. It was certainly better then Sesame Street and the Electric Company in my mind.
The Characters:
The Librarian – This old dude used to freak me out. He always tried (unsuccessfully) to scare kids by reading nursery rhymes. He always thought they were horror stories.
Grizelda, the Ghastly Gourmet – Another spook. This one was a witch who who always cooked up ghastly recipes in her cauldron. In every episode, she would hit her head on a hanging pot and always claimed her recipe was afailure.
The Midget Count – This little vampire is rumored to be the inspiration for Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies since Mike Myers grew up in Ontario.
The Wolfman – The werewolf DJ who spun rock and roll records while doing a Wolfman Jack impression.
The Grammar Slammer & Bammer – Igor the assistant would make a grammatical error and the Grammar Slammer (a voice only) would make Igor correct himself. An huge purple monster named Bammer would threatened to pound Igor if he failed.
Bwana Clyde Batty – An African explorer who was a stereotype of 19th century British explorers, he would show films and make really bad jokes and animal calls.
The Oracle – A mystic sporting a Fu Manchu moustache and really long fingernails, which he always pokes himself with during the show. He always launched into a speech about his greatness and with a sweep of his arm, always knocked over his crystal ball (like a goldfish bowl) smashing it. He always had a spare though.
Well, that was some of the more memorable. Of course I can’t forget the very great Vincent Price as a special guest cast member.YouTube has only long clips of the show, which you can watch if you like or you can view the fan site.
