Iron Man is going to be directed by Jon Favreau, which has been known for some time. What I didn’t know was that Robert Downey Jr. is going to be Tony Stark.
Downey will portray Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Using his intelligence and ingenuity, Stark instead builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. Upon his return to the U.S., he uncovers a plot with global implications and must don his armor and protect the world.

Excellent casting with Downey as the flawed billionaire industrialist AND in the latest news rumors are circulating that Famke Janssen is being sought out for Tony Stark’s love interest.
Is Tony Stark falling for Jean Grey? There’s a new rumor — albeit a fairly shaky one — that X-Men actress Famke Janssen has been cast as Tony Stark’s love interest in the forthcoming Iron Man movie that will star Robert Downey, Jr. in the title role.
