If you liked Lord of the Rings or maybe DragonHeart or the older Dragon Slayer…then I think you’re going to like Eragon. Author Christopher Paolini began writing Eragon around 1998, when he was only 15-years old. Four years later his parents helped him do a small publishing before he was discovered by a larger publisher.

Eragon became a success and a New York Times Bestseller.

In the Kingdom of Alagaesia,rules an evil king named Galbatorix. He was once a dragon rider, but is now corrupted by madness after losing his dragon and being denied another. Dragons were once the peacekeeping species and Galbatorix in his madness, crippled the order of the Dragon Riders. The dragons are now thought to be extinct.

Eragon is a 15-year-old boy who lives in a small village called Carvahall. He finds a mysterious blue stone in the forest, which after a time hatches a baby dragon. Eragon raises the dragon he names Saphira in secret before being targeted by the forces of evil.

Eragon takes it upon himself to become a Dragon Rider, learning swordfighting, magic, and given a magic sword by his companion Brom (Jeremy Irons), a mysterious old storyteller from his village.

Dragons, elves, dwarves and more…this movie should be an exciting story brought to life.
