B.J. and the Bear was about B.J. McCay (Greg Evigan – My Two Dads) who was a trucker travelling the country in his unmistakable red and white rig. His partner for the road was his pet chimp, Bear. Being based in Georgia, he was always running into the corrupt local sheriff Elroy P. Lobo (who later had his own series).
It was very Dukes of Hazzard style.
Eventually, B.J. started a trucking business in Los Angeles called “Bear Enterprises” and his new problem was politician Rutherford T. Grant. Grant was a silent partner in another firm called TransCal and he always tried to stop the competition whenever he could. Because of all the problems, B.J. found it impossible to get truck drivers to work for him. He ended up having to hire 7 hot and young lady truckers (say it isn’t so) to work for him.
Ahhhh, good ol’ trucking in the USA.
