The Fall Guy (or I miss Heather Thomas)

One show I used to like when I was younger was The Fall Guy. I liked Lee Majors in Big Valley and The Bionic Man, so it was only natural that I ended up watching this show.

The Fall Guy was about a movie stunt man named Colt Seavers who also worked as a bounty hunter on the side. It was a campy, silly show but hey…it was the 80’s. As Colt used to say:

This is the story of one of America’s great unsung heroes. I mean you’ve seen him but you never knew who he was. You’ve cheered for him and cried for him and women have wanted to die for him. But did he ever get any credit or the girl? No! He’s what we call the “Stuntman” and the reason I’m talking so fondly about him is, well because it’s me, Colt Seaver. Anyway, picture work isn’t wall-to-wall employment so maybe you wonder how a guy keeps his head together? Well, one way is to wait by the phone and wait and wait. The other is to take an occasional job with the court system of the United States of America where a man is considered innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately sometimes a lot of these people get out of jail on what we call bail and they’d run like hell! …and that’s where I come in. I sometimes pick up rent money trying to find them and bring them back to justice

In truth though, I was also in my teens and couldn’t help but notice one of the co-stars Heather Thomas who played sidekick Jodie Banks. I actually had this poster in my room at that time (my mom hated it).

I always wondered what happened to her since I never really saw much of her after The Fall Guy ended so I decided to Google her.

It turned out Heather Thomas had a long career. I had no idea.

I found these fairly recent photos of her and I see that she still looks amazing. Ahhh, Heather…I miss you. Also a special teenage mention to the other Fall Guy co-star Markie Post (Night Court and Electra Woman).
