I was thinking of the Justice League the movie idea and it reminded me of an old television show that I had to go searching the internet to find.

So what was this super-cheesy 1970’s show? Well here’s some information on it.

Legends of the Superheroes – 1979

The adventures of many of DC Comics greatest superheroes and villians. In the first episode, The Challenge, the superheroes must race against time to stop the diabolical supervillians’ plot to destroy the world. In the second episode, The Roast, the superheroes pay tribute to Batman and Robin in the form of a roast which even the villians attend.

The shows were two one-hour specials by Hanna-Barbera. Now keep in mind that the bad guys here were The Weather Wizard, Sinestro, Mordru, The Riddler (Frank Gorshin of course), Solomon Grundy, Scarlet Cyclone, and Dr. Thaddeus Bodog Sivana. It even has a cameo by the Atom!

The bible internet posting about this show is linked below and this poor guy Scott Tipton had to sit through the whole thing. Oh well, it’s a post with a lot of laughs and some darn good memories. Go have a read.
