Directed by Antoine Fuqua
Written by Jonathan Lemkin
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Michael Pena, Danny Glover, Kate Mara, Elias Koteas

I went and saw Shooter over the weekend and in my expert opinion…it was just better then okay.
They really changed things up from the original book, but it left things a bit flat. In the book the overall feeling was that Bob Lee Swagger would be in a tough spot and then get out of it because he always had a plan. Instead it became a mediocre conspiracy thriller.

Don’t get me wrong. It was good action and I enjoyed the movie, but it was no Bourne Identity or anything.
Mark Wahlberg in the starring role is what saves this movie. He is believable as the former sniper, who is lured out of his retirement only to be double-crossed in a government conspiracy because he is one of the few men who could make such an amazing shot. The other big save of the movie is Kate Mara. She’s played Heath Ledger’s daughter in Brokeback Mountain, she was in 24, the movie Zoom, and We Are Marshall.
The other small save in the movie is Elias Koteas who played the crazy Casey Jones in the first TMNT movie! How DO I remember this stuff? Anyway…he’s good in shooter.
Overall though, wait for the DVD.
