The late 90’s television show Nightman was based on the comic of the same name published by Malibu Comics. The comic company created the Ultraverse which was a shared universe that have a various characters called “Ultras” that had acquired super-human powers.
Eventually Malibu was bought out by Marvel Comics and the entire Ultraverse line was cancelled. Only a few of the more popular comics were redone and relaunched.

I actually quite liked Nightman at the time and eventually the television show aired and lasted two seasons. While it was faily low budget and campy, I still liked watching the show.

Johnny Domino (the son of a former policeman) had an injury due to a lightning strike that left him unable to sleep. It also gave him the ability to read people’s evil thoughts. He was a martial artist and had some high-tech gear made by his friend Raleigh Jordan and thus, the Batman-esque crimefighter Nightman was born. Matt McColm who played Nightman was actually a stuntman, so he was able to fill all sides of the role.
The second season went downhill pretty bad when the show was revamped quite a bit and then was taken off the air. I think a remake would be pretty cool, but what makes this show (which isn’t the best as I said) was that it was one of the few superhero shows out there and one of the only ones to be establised from a rather small line of comics.
Now you might know a bit more about this show I had forgot about, but was thinking about for some reason today. You can have a look at the intro video after the jump.
