Before there was Firefly, there was another space show that had the whole “western in space” idea going on. It was a cartoon called The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers.

It was like a space western with super-powered, bionic people. It pretty much hit every genre at one time and I used to find that a pretty cool idea. of course nothing was cooler then Shane “Goose” Gooseman, the shape-shifting tough guy of the group. Here’s the intro video:
