I’ve blogged about Stingray with Nick Mancuso before and I recently found the intro video for this series.
Stingray was on NBC from 1985 to 1987. It was produced by Stephen J. Cannell who was known for doing lots of other shows like The Rockford Files, The A-Team, The Greatest American Hero, Hardcastle and McCormick, 21 Jump Street, Hunter, Silk Stalkings, Renegade, Wiseguy, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Baretta, Quincy, M.E., and Riptide.
Stingray was about a mysterious guy known only as Ray, whose trademark was a black 1965 Corvette Stingray. Much like the series The Equalizer, Ray would advertise in newspapers offering a “1965 black Stingray for Barter Only” that people who needed help would hear about from others.
He never charged, but only asked that one day he would come for a favor and the person could never turn it down. See the intro clip for Stingray.
