Probably the most troubled character in Smallville, Lana Lang (played by Kristen Kreuk) compels us all to want to protect her. Lana’s been troubled ever since the death of her parents when she was three years old and she constantly has that “abandoned” aura about her still. Since she’s been involved with Lex however, she’s now evolved into a stronger personality type.

“Life changes. Sometimes it’s painful, sometimes it’s beautiful, but most of the time it’s both.” – Lana Lang
This season, Lana is finally able to start fresh with Clark and seems very understanding of his heritage, but let’s not forget when he told her about his powers before and she was killed, causing him to go back in time to save her. Despite being the tragic one who’s always in harms way, we still like Lana because she’s a sweet, caring, hauntingly beautiful and is genuinely seeking true love.
“Do you ever wish that you could go back in time and… everything would be different?” – Lana Lang
Now that she knows Clark’s secrets and most of Lex’s too, things are sure to get wild in Smallville this season. Even the arrival of Clark’s cousin Kara doesn’t seem to phase Lana who’s finally going to get her chance to be the Man of Steel’s best girl. We’re all dying to see the two work as a team (with Chloe and Kara of course) and it’s about time. Lana Lang fits this “super family” very well, and even though we know that eventually they won’t be together…we’re all enjoying our time with her.
