We couldn’t even have without Clark Kent (played by Tom Welling). He’s our hero that constantly shows us a wholesome side we all wish we had, and super powers we all want. It’s the boyish charm he’s got when he smiles, yet the smoldering anger of an unstoppable powerhouse when he’s mad.

Even though we grin when he gets hit with the red kyptonite and loses all his inhibitions, throwing people around with ease and kissing girls with reckless abandon, we still like good old dependable Clark that comes through in the end no matter what. Sometimes it takes a bit, but he always figures out what to do eventually.

“After everything that’s happened, I thought I knew what my life would be like now. I thought it would be easier, but I guess you can never be certain what’s gonna happen tomorrow, can you?” – Clark Kent

Even though he always tried to fit in and hide from his future, we know that he’s one day going to be the “Man of Steel.” We’ve cheered when he found out about his x-ray vision or heat vision and we silently applauded when he’s punch holes in walls or lifted cars. Eventually we all want him to fly, but we know it’s coming so we can wait.

“I am Kal-El of Krypton. It is time to fulfill my destiny.” – Clark Kent

A red cape is at the end of the trail, but it’s the journey to get there that’s important to us. We all want to be a part of that journey and see every step in the birth of a hero. Clark is the original hero in that regard. He’s what most other heroes aspire to be. He’s perfect boyscout with incredible powers who will die to protect those around him. No doubt about it, Clark Kent is definately someone we want to watch.
