Stop-Loss is a new movie about dealing with the effects of the Iraq war, but already it’s getting people fired up.

Ryan Phillippe stars as a soldier who refuses to return to the front lines after being “stop-lossed.” The subject matter is what is sure to create controversy since the practice of a “stop-loss” is to retain soldiers past their contracted service time.

The funny thing is my wife is ex-military and she explained to me how the enlistment works and you actually sign up for a couple extra years from the start for things like this so the military is well within their rights. I’m sure people will still be in arms about the issue though.
