Pardon the pun: Bee Movie has been getting a lot of buzz. Mostly from the constant ad blitz, however. It looked cute, and so my family saw it last night in the theater. Let me tell you straight up: this movie isn’t really all too funny, and is a bit boring in a lot of places. That said, my daughter liked it.
It has a lot of adult jokes, and there is a trial that little kids might not get. My daughter asked several times “Why did that happen?” or “I don’t understand.”
Voice Acting Rating:

The actors seemed to have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of making this movie. The acting is good, though not stellar. There are a lot of voices you’d recognize, including of course Seinfeld.
Story Rating:

Yawn. I found myself bored frequently. It has to do with bees deciding they don’t want humans stealing their honey. As I mentioned there is a trial, etc. All this makes the movie drag a lot.
Animation Rating:

Colors are bright and vibrant. The human faces are a bit… strange, I’d have to say. The bees are well done, however they only have two legs and two arms. Aren’t insects supposed to have six appendages?
Humor Rating:

I felt like I saw all the funny bits in the trailers. However, I could watch that part with Seinfeld attached to the tennis ball in slo motion. Ha! It’s funny.
So, an Overall Rating:

It might be a good Friday night rental. You can fall asleep on the couch while your kids enjoy it.
