Enchanted is a really great movie. It is funny, and has great acting, good special effects and an excellent story. This is the kind of movie that you have to go into expecting a cliched ending, so when that happens (DUH! If I’m giving away something here, you obviously haven’t ever read a fairy tale or seen a Disney movie), it’s OK. In fact, there are a lot of cliches here but they are pulled off with such wonder and all around good cheer that it is entirely OK.
Amy Adams, as the beautiful princess, steals the movie. Well, not really steals, because it is her movie. She shines in every frame, and is fun to watch. All of the others, such as Patrick Dempsey, and Timothy Spall, do well. I though James Marsden, who plays the Prince was a bit weak. I think he might be in danger of getting typecast… he seems to always play jilted lovers. Oh well. He did ok enough that it wasn’t distracting.
I would give Enchanted a total of Rating:

. It is an excellent family movie with lots to like and only one (I think appropriate) potty joke. I would definitely like to see this one again. I’ll leave you with the words of my daughter, who should know about such things: “It’s the best Princess movie I’ve ever seen!”
