ABC is keeping Jimmy Kimmel’s crew paid and David Letterman’s production company is paying for it’s workers, but NBC refuses to get into the holiday spirit and “laid off” almost 80 people from Leno’s Tonight Show.

The network confirmed Friday that nearly 80 nonwriting members of The Tonight Show staff have been laid off, as NBC previously said would happen if no arrangement could be made to get either Jay Leno or a guest back into the host’s chair by the end of the month.
Even Conan O’Brien’s group is paying for about 50 people through the holiday. Leno has gone a dipped into his pockets about a half million in bonus money to people who are leaving, but it seems many have been told that there’s no guarantee they’ll be rehired once shooting restarts. Leno had told them when it all started that they would be taken care of. Bah Humbug!
