“In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.”
That’s right, the whole team will be one the big screen. John “Hannibal” Smith the leader and master of disguise, Templeton “Face” Peck the conman, H.M. Murdock the crazy pilot, and B.A. Baracus the driver/mechanic.
If no one else can direct, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire… John Singleton! Yes, the Shaft director is on for another TV show adaptation, as he confirmed the rumours that he’s set to bring BA, Face, Murdoch and Hannibal to the big screen at last.
The rumours have been flying about this project for years, but Singleton’s hiring is a big step forward. He told BlackVoices.com that he’s planning to update the show from the original premise, which had Vietnam vets on the run for a crime they didn’t commit, helping innocents while staying one step ahead of the law.
I was such a Face fan. Dirk Benedict was the original Starbuck after all.
