The 1975 cult movie Death Race is being remade. There was a Death Race 2000 so this movie has a working title of Death Race 3000 at the moment according to IMDB. It stars the super cool Jason Statham playing in the world’s most brutal sport. If you saw any of the originals…you know what I mean.

Set in a future version of America, a prisoner (Statham) who is weeks away from being released is forced by his warden (Allen) to compete in a brutal, deadly car race alongside his fellow inmates.

I definitely like some of the other stars like Joan Allen (Bourne Ultimatum) and the really awesome Ian McShane (HBO’s Deadwood) so I think I’ll be interested in this one when it comes out.
