national-treasure-book-of-secrets-movie-posterI saw National Treasure 2: The Book of Secrets last night.   It was pretty good.  The plot concerns a hunt for a Native American city of Gold.  Of course, as you may have seen from the countless trailers, they have to kidnap the president of the United States in order to find clues of where the city is.  In their hunt, the stars travel to Paris, to London, Vermont, and several other key locations.  (Click here for the full storyline)

NT2 a fast moving flick, and wasn’t boring at all.  The only major concern I had was in Ed Harris, the villain.  I thought they set him up nicely, and he did a great job of it.  However, his motivation for all his badness was suspect (his explanation was completely lame) for me.  Additionally,  I thought how they resolved his efforts was cheesy at best.

This movie is rated PG.  It has some intense moments, with not a lot of swearing.

The Good:  Overall, this is a good movie.  It’s got good acting (Nick Cage isn’t as wooden as usual, which was nice.), great sets, and good scenes.   I really liked the President.  I think it would be cool for the next movie if they found a way to bring him in on the adventure.

The Bad:  It’s a bit predictable.  The villain ends up super-cheesy which sucked.

There will definitely be a #3 (Page 47… this will make sense after you see it).

Overall, I would give this movie an Overall Rating: ★★★★☆.  I’d like to buy it when it comes out on DVD.
