News is out that Paramount Pictures has approved a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie with Eddie Murphy. The original film was from back in 1984, but we’ve seen Rocky, Rambo, and now even Indy return to the big screen so why not Axel Foley?
Brett Ratner is in talks to direct the film, which is expected to begin filming next year for a summer 2010 release.
Murphy,47, reportedly approached the studio about reviving the film series in which he plays a Detroit police detective who ends up chasing criminals in Beverly Hills. reviving the role that made him a bonafide movie star.
The first movie is by far the best, with each successive one going downhill after that. It will be interesting to see if they can make a decent movie out of it. I don’t have high hopes considering the slew of crappy movies that Murphy has done though. I still can’t forgive him for Pluto Nash. The only good one in a long time that I think he’s done, was the underrated I Spy movie.
