Stupid Christmas Movies

I like Christmas movies.  I like them a lot.  However, there are a lot of bad Christmas movies out there.  Here are a few of the worst:

1) Fred Claus:  I couldn’t watch more than 30 minutes of this stinker.  It has a lot of stars in it.  I was surprised at how many made the bad choice to be in it.  It’s about Fred, Santa’s older brother.  Fred hates his younger brother.  Always had.  Fred is a bad egg who needs to learn about the spirit of Christmas.  Yawn. IMDB

2) The Santa Clause 2: What a let down from the first Santa Clause.  The worst part about this one is the fight between Santa Claus (Tim Allen) and the Santa Claus Robot (also played by Tim Allen, unfortunately).  Argh!  It makes me want to poke both eyes out with a yule log.  And what the heck happened to Judge Reinhold?  Did that guy get some serious facial reconstruction or what? IMDB

3) Jingle All The Way: Remember this one?  Ahnold tries to buy a Christmas toy for his son; the last Turbo Man action figure in the city.  I hated this movie.  It also stars Phil Hartman, and Sinbad among others. IMDB

4) How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Jim Carrey annoys me dreadfully.  Maybe that’s why I hate this movie so much.  After about five minutes of watching, I start to become filled with rage.  It’s the old story you’ve seen and heard so many times in better movies:  old grouch learns the true meaning of Christmas.  IMDB

Christmas Movies I’ve heard are terrible but haven’t seen:

1) Santa Claus Conquers The Martins: From IMDB: “The Martians kidnap Santa because there is nobody on Mars to give their children presents. “  IMDB

2) Silent Night Deadly Night 2: From IMDB:  “Ricky, the brother of the killer in the first film, talks to a psychitrist about how he became a brutal killer after his brother died, leading back to Mother Superior.” IMDB

3) Christmas Vacation 2:  Cousin Eddie’s Island Adventure:  From IMDB: Though Eddie’s fired right at Christmastime, his boss sends him and his family on a South Pacific vacation…”  I used to think that Randy Quaid was funny.  Not any more. The first Christmas Vacation movie remains one of my favorite Christmas movies.  I have no plans on seeing this one.  IMDB
