So it is a bit late, but here are some movie-related gift ideas. Heck, I even linked a bunch of the gift ideas to their page on Amazon. Can it get any easier than this? No, I will not wrap them for you, so the answer is no, it can’t get any easier!
5. The Original The Day The Earth Stood Still: This is the classic Sci-Fi movie that many consider one of the best ever in the genre. And it was just remade. It’s in the theaters right now and stars Keanu “I can’t Act” Reeves and Jennifer “Oscar” Connely. I saw this beaut when I was a kid. Though it is in black and white, its story remains true to this day. A must see for any and all Sci-Fi fan. Normally, I’d suggest getting a movie on Blu-ray. However, in this case, standard DVD should be fine.

4. The Chronicles of Narnia book series: This is an excellent gift on a number of levels. First, the entire set is a great read. I am reading them to my six (almost seven!) year old and she loves them. I have read the entire series more times than I can count and it still amazes and delights me. Second of all, the first two books have been made into movies by Disney (Lion, The Witch, etc. and Prince Caspian), and they are hard at work on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third book. I personally enjoy reading the book first before watching the movie, and if you feel the same way this might be an excellent gift.

3. The Incredible Hulk movie: I really enjoyed this movie! Of course I like super hero movies a lot. It is so much better than the Hulk movie that came out a couple of years ago. Ugh. This one stars Edward Norton and Liv Tyler and a bunch of other actors. It has action, romance, story, and DOESN’T have over the top direction! Even my wife liked it, and she doesn’t really like super hero movies. Believe it or not, this is one of the better Marvel super hero movies that came out this past summer (yes, I mean it is almost as good as Iron Man). Look for a cameo by Tony Stark.

2. Gift Certificates or Tickets to their local movie theater: This is an excellent idea for the movie lover in your life. Make sure the tickets are good at their local theater. There is nothing worse than getting tickets for a movie theater that is in a different city, or worse yet, a different state!
1. This might seem like a joke at first, but I am totally serious: Used DVDs from Blockbuster or Video Factory or your local Video Store. First run, gently used DVD movies are a lot cheaper a couple of months after coming out. If your film buff doesn’t mind used movies (really, why wouldn’t they? It helps the environment!) you can get a lot more for your money. I know for a fact that Blockbuster has 2 for $20.00 and 4 for $20.00 sales all the time. For a cool $40.00 you can get a lot of movies.
