I hope you got a chance to watch Smallville last night because it featured another great cameo appearance by some DC characters. The Legion of Superheroes showed up to help catch a villian who came back in time and then stuck around to help Clark deal with Braniac once and for all.

The writer of the episode, Geoff Johns, is the one who put Green Lantern back as Hal Jordan and some other great comic achievements.

When first introduced in comics, the Legion was a team of super-powered teens from the far future who time-travel back to meet their hero and legend, Superman. In the comics they recruit him into the Legion and he has many adventures with them in the 30th century. I guess that’s why it was a nice touch that they left Clark with a Legion ring programmed for time travel (flight capabilities were removed) so he could come visit them.

Smallville has already had Green Arrow (Oliver Quinn), Cyborg, the Flash, Aquaman, Black Canary, John Jones the Martian Manhunter and a few others. Now we’ve also got Doomsday to look forward to this upcoming season.
