This weekend was the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, which I always fun way more fun and entertaining than the Oscars because it seems more laid back and about fun. Movies are supposed to be fun, not all about pomp and boredom. Here’s some of the winners:

Best Female Performance: Ellen Page - Juno
Best Summer Movie So Far: Iron Man
Best Male Performance: Will Smith - I Am Legend
Best Comedic Performance: Johnny Depp - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
Breakthrough Performance: Zac Efron - Hairspray
Best Villain: Johnny Depp - Sweeney Todd
Best Movie: Transformers

In case you missed anything, here’s the complete winner list from the 2008 Academy Awards last night. No Country for Old Men won the top nod, but one of my favorite movies of all time, The Borne Ultimatum snagged a handful of Oscar gold too. Yay!

More then 6,000 Internet Movie Database (IMBD.com) users have voted the movie to the Top 250 Movies of All Time list. Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille is now #33. Only a few other recent films are even on the list so it’s quite an accomplishment.
