The Dark Knight nailed the “Biggest Opening Weekend Ever” by hitting $155.34 million this last weekend beating Spider-Man 3, which made $151.1 million last year. It hit “Biggest Opening Day” with $67.85 million and “Biggest IMAX Opening”  with $6.2 million. Factor in an additional $40 million from overseas and it’s sitting at about $198 million for the first weekend.

It all seems pretty clear that this is the movie to see, so I’ll be going as soon as I return home in a few days.

This weekend Sex and the City dominated the box office, which is no surprise to many people except me I suppose. Here’s the numbers:

#1 Sex and the City - $55.7 million proving the ladies love this movie. I don’t think hardly any men have seen it yet.

#2 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - $46 million

#3 The Strangers - $20.7 million

#4 Iron Man - $14 million

#5 The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - $13 million

The fourth movie for Indiana Jones has hit it big. Since the movie’s opening on Thursday, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has made an estimated $311 million around the world.

It marked the second biggest Memorial Day weekend opening in history, behind only Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End which made $153 million domestically from Thursday to Monday last year.

“Adults really drove this opening. This is one of their favorite franchises and they couldn’t wait to take their kids with them,” Rob Moore, president of Paramount Worldwide Distribution told the Reuters.

Paris Hilton’s new movie The Hottie and the Nottie has made a grand total of $27,696 thus far. It’s been out for about 3 days and here’s all the math. It was on 111 screens and made $249 average. I think it’s soon to be awarded the worst movie of all time.

Paris Hilton’s latest film, The Hottie and the Nottie, has ranked dead last by users of IMDb.

The Hottie and the Nottie – with 2,190 low-star votes – now rests at the bottom of the IMDb user charts, even below the American Idol movie, From Justin to Kelly: With Love and Daddy Day Camp.

Four of five of the movies in which Hilton has had starring roles are ranked in IMDb’s Bottom 100.

It’s dead last on IMDB, which is a record in itself though. That pretty much spells it’s destruction. Please Hollywood, don’t give Paris Hilton anther chance.

The Francis Lawrence-directed movie blitzed the box office with an estimated $76.5 million opening salvo, beating the four-year record held by The Return Of The King (which, of course, had built-in franchise appeal) and posting a hugely impressive per-screen average of $21,000

I can’t wait to see it!

This is a juggernaut that’s going to just keep on rolling. It pretty much doubled anything the Transformers was doing at the box office.

Combined with an impressive opening foreign take of $29.9 million, the bespectacled boy wizard is whipping up magic for Warner. In France, pic opened at $5.9 million, the second highest opening day of all time in that market.

Stateside, the film goes into 4,285 theaters today, the highest theater count on the books after this summer’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” which bowed in 4,362 locations.

Moving into its second frame, DreamWorks and Paramount’s “Transfomers” is likely to look a little tarnished in the shadow of “Phoenix,” although with a seven-day opening of $155.2 million, “Transformers” is in more than fine shape.

I’m sure like all the other fans I’ll go see the movie, but I’m NOT going to be wearing stupid glasses like some of those fools. They better not mess with me either or I’ll poke those little buggers with my wand.

Transformers has taken in $84.9 million dollars and keep in mind that the film only cost $150 Million to make.

I’m pretty sure this means there will be a Transformers sequel as Michael Bay spoke about here. I saw the movie this weekend and it was just as awesome as all the reviews have stated.

There are many other 80’s cartoons that could make great movies, like He-Man, Starblazers, Galaxy Rangers, Thundarr, and the Herculoids to name a few.

Walt Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” weathered intensified international competition during the weekend, maintaining its lock on the No. 1 spot for the third consecutive stanza with an estimated $51.3 million from 17,500 screens in 103 territories

The source also says that worldwide, Pirates of the Caribbean is still a movie juggernaut.

Meanwhile, “At World’s End” has rolled up $493.5 million internationally in three weekends, surpassing 2005’s “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith” ($493.2 million) as the 15th-biggest overseas boxoffice smash of all time. It already has exceeded the international tally of 2003’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” by nearly $140 million, and is shy $149 million of the total take of last year’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.”

“At World’s End” should pass the half-billion-dollar mark internationally by today or Tuesday, according to distributor Buena Vista International. No other film has reached that benchmark so quickly.

“At World’s End” now ranks No. 23 on the chart of all-time industry boxoffice hits worldwide with a gross of $747.1 million. It is the third most successful foreign release for Disney and the fourth-biggest worldwide grosser for the company (after “Dead Man’s Chest,” 2003’s “Finding Nemo” and 1994’s “The Lion King”.

Those are just impressive huge numbers. I’m sure Disney is going to keep this franchise rolling a bit, since it’s clear there is a huge fan-base out there.

Spider-Man 3 is now also the record holder for the single day box office record with $59.3 million, which was also held by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest with $55.8 million.

Sony has now confirmed that they are definately going to continue the Spider-Man franchise. Spider-Man will get at least three more movies since audiences appear very eager to see more of the Web-slinger.
