The Happening Poster

The Happening

This new poster from The Happening is all warpy, but it doesn’t help me want to see the movie especially since I read a really horrible review of it. I’m thinking I’ll be giving this one a miss.

Television News New J.J. Abrams Series Fringe Posters

Fringe

If you’ve watched Lost, you might know that J.J. Abrams uses a huge amount of symbolism that even to this day has people trying to decode and solve. His new series coming to FOX called Fringe looks to be no exception.

Among the greenlights: The J.J. Abrams entry “Fringe,” which follows the exploits of a young female FBI agent who tackles unexplained medical and scientific phenomena.

Hour-long skein could potentially be paired with “Sarah Connor Chronicles” on Monday nights — a high-octane night for Fox, which also will bring back “24″ and “Prison Break,” perhaps on the same night, later this season.

And…

“Fringe” mixes elements of “The X-Files” and Paddy Chayefsky’s “Altered States” with what Abrams calls “a slight ‘Twilight Zone’ vibe.” It will focus on brilliant but possibly crazy research scientist Walter Bishop, his estranged son and a female FBI agent who brings them together.

Episodes will explore self-contained mysteries of the paranormal, as well as the relationships between the three leads.

“So much of the story is relatable people in extraordinary situations,” Abrams said. “The show is definitely a nod to ‘Altered States’ and ‘Scanners’ and that whole Michael Crichton/Robin Cook world of medicine and science.”

There’ll also be an overriding mythology that will come into play from time to time, as well as a healthy dose of humor.

Sounds really cool to me and the posters certainly bring out that mysterious element.

Lost Lost Season 4 Trailer

ABC has released a new trailer for Lost and it’s definitely hot! One thing I like about Lost is that it seems to actually have an overall plan and direction, unlike a show like Journeyman where the writers openly admitted they don’t know how the character time travels. I like the fact that Lost seems to have an overall story arc to it and Season 4 looks like it will be a solid addition to the overall story arc.
