Television Kyle XY Set To Return In January

 kylexy.jpg

If you are a fan of the show Kyle XY, you already know that it is set to return on January 12, 2009.  That episode will be titled “It Happened…”  Apparently, only 10 episodes are planned for season 3 currently.

My wife and I just started watching the first season on DVD a few days ago, and man I am totally hooked.  The show is about a teenager found wandering about, naked, in the city of Seattle, Washington.  He doesn’t know who he is.  He doesn’t have a belly button.  He is a genius that can jump from the top of a building and not get hurt.  Plus, there is some kind of secret organization after him.  Who is he?  What is he?  I can’t wait to find out.

Click here for an episode by episode guide.  Warning, there are probably spoilers.

If you haven’t seen the show, you should begin by watching the entire first season.  It’s on sale right now on Amazon for a cool $21.00.  I left a link below if you are interested.  Well worth the price.  Unfortunately, Season 2 isn’t available yet.

Television News Hawaii Five-O and The Streets of San Francisco Remakes

Hawaii Five-O

It looks like CBS has nothing new to be tossing out so it’s working to rehash some old stuff. They are looking at a Hawaii Five-O remake from Criminal Minds executive producer Ed Bernero.

Bernero is such a big “Hawaii Five-O” fan that he has the iconic theme song from the show as his ringtone. He said he didn’t even hesitate when execs at CBS Par TV, where he has an overall deal, approached him with the idea for a new incarnation of the classic Leonard Freeman cop series.

Bernero is writing the project, which he describes as ” ‘Hawaii Five-O’ 2.0.”

Like the original series, it is a procedural chronicling the workings of the fictional Hawaiian state police department. In the original, the unit was headed by Steve McGarrett, played by Jack Lord. In the new series, McGarrett’s son Chris will be the top cop.

While the characters, storytelling and pacing will be updated, “we will try to keep as much of the original show as possible,” Bernero said. “I’m not trying to reinvent it.”

The famous opening music will be back but may also get a face-lift, much in the vein of the theme from the 1966-73 series “Mission: Impossible,” which was rearranged for the 1990s movie franchise.

As for the staple “Book ‘em, Danno” closing line, there will be a version of it in the new installment, Bernero said.Source

CBS is also looking at a new Streets of San Francisco show and frankly, neither one of these appeal to me. Sure the originals were great, but let get something new going okay people? Speaking of original programming, have you seen USA’s Burn Notice? It’s fantastic.

Battlestar Galactica Katee Sackhoff at Comic Con

Katee Sackhoff

I really heart Katee Sackhoff. Except for that crappy sci-fi movie she did awhile ago that I saw. It was so bad that my eyes wanted to bleed. Actually she was great. It was the rest of the movie that sucked. Anyway, I’m so totally impressed with her that I really want to see her continue on to bigger and better roles. She’s awesome.

Grey's Anatomy Katherine Heigl Might Be Killed Off Grey’s Anatomy

Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens might be killed off of NBC’s Grey’s Anatomy this next season. The writers might give her character a brain tumor because they are mad about her dropping out of Emmy contention.

Katherine Heigl could be killed off Grey’s Anatomy next season, a well-placed source tells Us Weekly in its latest issue.

The idea came after Heigl, 29, withdrew herself from Emmy contention, saying that she didn’t feel she was “given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination.”

In response to Heigl’s griping, staffers are considering giving her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, a brain tumor.

“[Producer] Shonda [Rhimes] and the writers are [angry] at her,” the source tells Us. “It’s their way of [messing] with her. She won’t know whether she’s going to live or die.”

Source

That’s pretty harsh, but maybe she wants out because she’s a big movie star now.
