Television News Luke Perry Not Joining the 90210 Spin-Off

Luke Perry

This is a bit surprising, but it seems that Luke Perry has no plans to be in the new 90210 spin-off series.

“I can’t re-imagine it currently,” Perry told The Billy Bush Show Thursday.

“It’s just not something that I’ve thought about to be quite honest,” Perry, who played brooding rebel Dylan McKay revealed. “I don’t see it happening.”

As for his former castmates Spelling and Garth, “I wish them a lot of luck. I hope they have a lot of success with it,” Perry said.

I suppose he’s forgotten what having a career is like. No, I’m not trying to be a hater, but I honestly haven’t seen the guy in anything in a long time. Well, except for a few crappy movies I suppose. You’d think getting a chance to re-connect with a whole generation would be something exciting, but I guess not.

Television News Andrea Zuckerman Returning to 90210?

Andrea Zuckerman

So I guess Andrea Zuckerman (Gabrielle Carteris) coming back to 90210. The draft for the remake show has been completed and there’s a character named Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez who’s the host of the school’s news show. Since Andrea Zuckerman was hooked up with Jesse Vasquez and they had a kid (if I remember), it doesn’t take much to figure out what’s up.

I know their also hoping to get some other stars back for at least cameo appearances too. I think Dillon should be back since Luke Perry hasn’t had a role in anything else since 90210, has he?
I guess we’ll continue to hear as things develop.

90210 Spin-Off in the Works

Beverly Hills 90210

The CW network is hoping to capture some of that old-school magic with a new class from Beverly Hills 90210. It’s the show that made a bunch of teens famous who all went on to do pretty much nothing. All except Brian Austin Green who’s recently earned my respect by 1) nailing Megan Fox regularly (curse him) and 2) staring in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Anyway, this new spin-off is currently in development.

Details on the project — including which if any of the characters on the original series will make the transition to the spinoff — remain sketchy.

The spinoff, which is close to getting a writer, has been put on the fast track by the network. It is expected to decide whether to order a pilot by the end of the month.

According to sources, “Beverly Hills, 90210″ creator Darren Star is not involved.

This would be the second spinoff from the series about privileged teens living in Beverly Hills, which aired on Fox from 1990-2000. The first one, the Star-created “Melrose Place,” had a successful seven-year run on Fox. It didn’t feature any major characters from “Beverly Hills.”

Seriously, most of the cast went on to do some B-List stuff, well…except Jason Priestley in a bit role in on of the greatest westerns ever, Tombstone. Given that this is the CW, I don’t have high hopes for this and I don’t think even having the iconic name is going to help much.
