I was really mixed on Babylon A.D. and then I’ve seen the recent round of television trailers and it looks pretty good. I’m probably one of those rare few that actually like Vin Diesel most of the time though. The poster reminds me of a Blade Runner and Unbreakable cross-over for some reason.

Vin Diesel is back as you’ll see in this Babylon A.D. trailer. I know this will surprise you, but he talks a deep gravelly voice and this ends up being an action movie. I had no idea that’s where it was going. All kidding aside…it looks kind of decent.

It seems on the new movie “Babylon A.D.” coming out that Vin Diesel and the director didn’t get along. Not only that, the movie had to be bailed out finacially.

Part of the problem with the movie, according to one insider, was a continuing ego clash between Diesel and temperamental French director Mathieu Kassovitz. “These guys really didn’t get along. I think they wouldn’t mind if they never saw each other again,” the source said.
Another source told us: “Vin is panicked. He turned down ‘The Fast and the Furious’ 2 and 3 because he was ‘too big’ for sequels, and he’s now begging Universal to do a ‘Fast and Furious 4.’ ”

Babylon A.D. is about a veteran-turned-mercenary named Thoorop (Vin Diesel) who takes a job escorting a woman from Russia to China. It turns out she’s carrying a virus that a cult wants to harvest so they can create a genetically modified Messiah.

Cast:
- Vin Diesel
- Gérard Depardieu
- Michelle Yeoh
- Mark Strong
- Charlotte Rampling
- Lambert Wilson
This movie just seems to have a plot close to a few other movies I’ve seen. The movie Cyborg with Jean Claude Van Damme comes to mind. Let’s hope Babylon is better.
The promo teaser is after the jump.
