According to all the buzz being passed around, Sarah Jayne Dunn who played Mandy from Hollyoaks is going to be Harley Quinn in The Dark Knight. Harley is the crazy girlfriend of The Joker. It’s not 100% just yet, but I’m pretty sure it’s the truth.

With the Writer’s Strike is done, Warner Bros. is out to get the Justice League movie made by 2009. George Miller will be directing and should feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter as a team-up similar to the X-men.

Warners tried to get “Justice League” into production earlier, but put it on indefinite hold in January, allowing the cast options to expire (Daily Variety, Jan. 16). At the time, the studio said it didn’t want to move ahead until the scribes had another shot at the script.
More than one option

Scribes Kieran and Michele Mulroney are busy polishing up the script, which is expected back at the studio in several weeks, and the cast has been advised to keep training for their superhero roles. Director George Miller is in pre-production in Australia.

Adam Brody, cast as the Flash, is the biggest star in the superhero lineup. Rapper Common nabbed the Green Lantern role; other roles went to lesser-known thesps such as Armie Hammer Jr. (Batman) and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman).

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing, mainly because Christian Bale IS Batman now. I also liked the recent Superman retake and it seems like they’re just going to muck things up with all these different actors. I honestly dig Tom Welling from Smallville too. He should have been Superman.

Batman Gotham Knight is going to be a small animated series that take place right before the beginning of the new movie The Dark Knight that’s coming out. The villains look pretty cool (Deadshot, Scarecrow, Killer Croc) and the whole thing is going to be an interesting adaptation. Each short will be done by a different anime director. Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon. Early indications are an overdose, possibly of sleeping pills.

Apparently, the apartment is owned by Mary Kate Olsen. He was found by a housekeeper and pronounced dead at the scene after attempts to rescuate him failed.

He will be seen in his last role this summer… as the Joker. Previous roles include an oscar-nominated turn in Brokeback Mountain.

Now this is interesting. The director of the new Batman movie The Dark Knight, Chris Nolan, recently spoke up about the movie saying that the Joker is not the focus of the flick.

“Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) is a tragic figure, and his story is the backbone of this film. The Joker, he sort of cuts through the film — he’s got no story arc, he’s just a force of nature tearing through. Heath has given an amazing performance in the role, it’s really extraordinary.”

I guess we’ll see more about Harvey Dent and his change from good person of Gotham to tragic Two-Faced villain. The Joker will just be running around creating carnage while the real story takes place. Funny how everything regarding this movie is Joker-centric. Kind of like how Spider-Man 3 was very Venom focused.

I hadn’t seen this poster for Batman: The Dark Knight so I thought I’d toss it up for you. This is one of my favorites yet because it really shows a creepy looking Joker writing in the blood of his victims. The anticipation is killing me!
