NBC Heroes Miss Universe hopes for Heroes

Miss Universe, Riyo Mori wants to get a gig on NBC’s Heroes for the upcoming second season. From the sounds of it, the role shes up for has to be in the past when Hiro Nakamura visits feudal Japan.

Miss Universe 2007

“As soon as I won Miss Universe I had this big chance,” Mori said in an interview Monday. “I’ve never acted before. I went to the casting audition and read a script in English and Japanese, and they said it was really good. So I hope I can be in the show.”

Mori said the role of Yaeko would be a love interest for one of the main characters on “Heroes.”

The 20-year-old dancer won the 2007 Miss Universe contest in Mexico City last month. The only other time Japan has won the pageant was in 1959, when Akiko Kojima became the first Miss Universe from Asia.

NBC Heroes Heroes Trailer for episode: “How To Stop An Exploding Man”

This looks amazing. Right now, I don’t think there is a better show on television.

NBC Heroes

Some questions I have and really want answered:

  • Will Ando die?
  • How cool was Sylar saying…”boom”?
  • I bet Candace was ugly before she discovered her powers of illusion.
  • What is Suresh’s power? After all, it’s genetic right?
  • Is Suresh’s sister alive?
  • Is Simone and her father really dead?
  • Can some hero talk to them using a power?
  • What will be Mrs. Petrelli’s power
  • Did Linderman ever have kids?

Take the jump and see the trailer, plus a link to a site with some spoilers if you just have to know more.

NBC Heroes Heroes Description: “How To Stop an Exploding Man”

This was a cool description I found about the show and I’ll tell you why in a minute. No real spoilers here.

NBC’s Heroes

Episode: 1.23
Air Date: May 21
“How To Stop an Exploding Man”

HEROES RISE AND FALL IN THE SHOCKING SEASON FINALE WRITTEN BY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/CREATOR TIM KRING AND DIRECTED BY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ALLAN ARKUSH — With Isaac’s (Santiago Cabera) horrible predictions all unfolding before them, the everyday people with extraordinary abilities face moments of pain and peril in Kirby Plaza with unflinching heroism, as “Heroes” first volume comes to a close — and the next surprisingly begins. Clea DuVall, Lisa Lackey, James Kyson Lee, Missy Peregrym, Zachary Quinto, Richard Roundtree, George Takei and Adair Tishler guest-star.

What I noticed in this was Kirby Plaza. I don’t think there’s a Kirby Plaza in NY City, so I figured it had to be named for legendary comic creator Jack Kirby who was the most influential and respected illustrator and creator of comic books.

He created or co-created Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, The Incredible Hulk, Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos, The Silver Surfer, The Mighty Thor and oh so many more.

NBC Heroes NBC show Heroes has wrapped shooting the season

The NBC super-show Heroes held it’s Wrap Party and the cast teased people with how the season is going to end.

NBC Heroes Wrap Party

Last night, the cast and crew of Heroes celebrated the end of their first season with an exclusive, 700-person bash at the Cabana Club in Hollywood, and TV Guide was on hand for all the excitement — including Heroes-themed drinks, a musical performance by the Band from TV, and a surprise graduation ceremony for Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet), who slipped into a cap and gown to be presented with her high-school diploma by series creator Tim Kring as the band played “Pomp and Circumstance.”

But even though the Hero-tinis and Save the World cosmopolitans were free-flowing, the cast all proved they’ve all got another superpower: the ability to keep secrets. One by one, Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli), Masi Oka (Hiro), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli), and the rest of the series’ stars all carefully deflected any questions about the season finale. “Everybody dies,” joked Zachary Quinto (Sylar). “Actually, I’ve been telling it to everyone,” joked Jimmy Jean-Louis, who plays the Haitian with amazing mental powers. “The coolest thing is that I erased their memories straight after.”

Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman) did let it slip that the season finale will be “a monster episode.” “It took us 20 days to shoot it. There are huge things that no one’s going to see coming. We all come together, so it’s going to be very satisfying for everyone.”

TV Guide

Don’t forget. The new Episode of Heroes is on Monday. Only four episodes left.
