Transformers Transformers 2 Set Photos

Transformers 2

Filming for Transformers 2 has gotten started and it involves turning the town of Bethlehem, PA to look like someplace in China. There’s also helicopters, a factory, and a bunch of soldiers. If you want to see a couple pages of photos, then hit the link below.

Transformers Transformers Cast Returns for Transformers 2

Transformers

It’s Official that the full cast of Transformers will be returning in Transformers 2 with one great addition, Rainn Wilson. You probably know Rainn from NBC’s The Office and he’s always a fun addition to a movie.

Rainn Wilson, who plays the intense (and intensely funny) Schrute on NBC’s “The Office,” has revealed to MTV that he has been cast in DreamWorks’ “Transformers 2.” The sequel to last year’s megahit about a race of automotive automatons smashing it out on Earth reteams director Michael Bay with returning stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro.

The story was conceived by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who wrote last year’s “Transformers,” as well as Ehren Kruger, who wrote the screenplay. Filming began in Los Angeles in recent weeks and is moving to Pennsylvania and then overseas.

Although a small part, Wilson’s casting — his first in a big-budget studio franchise — could be a shrewd play for a comedy crowd that might not otherwise patronize a bombastic Bay extravaganza. He will play a college professor to LaBeouf’s new undergrad. Discussions with Jonah Hill to take another small role did not pan out.

I’m thinking this is going to be another blockbuster. It’s pretty much a guaranteed hit even with a so-so storyline.

What's on DVD Not Just On Blu-Ray Anymore

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know there is a war on (and no, I’m not talking about the one over in the Middle East). It’s the war being waged between the high-definition DVD formats: Blu-Ray versus HD-DVD.

HD DVD versus Blu-ray

I’ve been reading in the media that Blu-Ray is winning the war, but that isn’t what I am here to inform you about. What I am here to inform you about is actually good news for the HD-DVD owners/supporters. Now, we’ve seen movies that have not been exclusive to either format, but for those that are, either side is cursing the other for not having the movie they want.

For instance, I’m sure John is ticked about Transformers not being on Blu-Ray while I am peeved about the Spider-man, X-men, and Fantastic Four movies not being on HD-DVD. This battle is being waged in the U.S., but for HD-DVD owners rejoice!!! I have discovered a loophole. It seems in foreign lands such as Germany, you can buy such movies like Fantastic Four 1 and 2 in HD-DVD format and they are region free (for the non-techies, that means they will work on any HD-DVD player).

You might have to put up with foreign writing on the box and cancel the foreign subtitles during play, but it’s a small price to pay for high definition goodness. It doesn’t stop there of course; other Blu-Ray exclusive movies are out in HD-DVD format overseas. Check out your favorite Internet DVD stores to find out what is available. I can give you the site where I found Fantastic Four 2 on HD-DVD (drop me a line and I’ll pass on the link). I didn’t check if it went the other way (HD-DVD on Blu-Ray overseas) for the sole reason I don’t really care; I own an HD-DVD player.

Box Office Transformers had biggest July 4th opening EVER!

Transformers is a big hit with movie fans and critics alike, so it’s no wonder it set the record for the biggest July 4th opening with $27.9 million dollars.

Transformers Optimus Prime

Transformers has taken in $84.9 million dollars and keep in mind that the film only cost $150 Million to make.

Box Office Mojo

I’m pretty sure this means there will be a Transformers sequel as Michael Bay spoke about here. I saw the movie this weekend and it was just as awesome as all the reviews have stated.

There are many other 80’s cartoons that could make great movies, like He-Man, Starblazers, Galaxy Rangers, Thundarr, and the Herculoids to name a few.

Transformers Transformers Sequel Rumors

Transformers director Michael Bay did an interview with Entertainment Weekly and he spoke very openly about all aspects of filming the movie. He also mentions some possible sequel information.

How are you sitting with the idea of directing another Transformers movie?
Let’s see how this one does. I’ve got a lot of ideas for the next one. There’s a lot of really cool, big robot stuff that I had in my head that we didn’t do. I just want to see how this works. You might not grow as much as a director [to do a sequel]. But it’s kind of like you have your baby and you don’t want someone else to take it.

So, hypothetically, if you were to take on a Transformers sequel, would it be your next film?
I don’t know if it would be ready. It just takes so long to do a script. A couple things are on the horizon, but [maybe] I’ll do my little movie that I can knock out, because we all think we’re going to have a strike.

Very cool. I’m going to see this movie Saturday. Sweet!
